The minister described the new system as a \u201clandmark reform\u201d for Greek yachting and high-end maritime tourism, noting that its goal is to eliminate the long waiting times and cumbersome procedures currently required at port authorities for the submission and certification of charter agreements.<\/p>\n
\u201cDigital transformation is neither a luxury nor a theoretical concept. It is a national necessity in an intensely competitive international environment,\u201d he said, emphasizing that Greece must remain at the forefront against other Mediterranean countries competing for a share of the maritime tourism market.<\/p>\n
According to the minister, the e-Charter Agreement system will enable the electronic registration of charter agreements in real time, the digital management and monitoring of professional vessel activity, and immediate access to services without the physical presence of those involved. He noted that the system will cover more than 7,000 professional vessels and will be interconnected with other public information systems, automating procedures and facilitating the issuance of departure permits by port authorities.<\/p>\n
