ONEX Shipyards & Technologies Group announced its strategic agreement with Antipollution (a member of the V Group).
The agreement concerns the design and construction of four state-of-the-art eco vessels, with an option for an additional four units. The landmark partnership was signed during the international exhibition “Posidonia 2026”, in the presence of the Minister of Maritime Affairs and Insular Policy, Vassilis Kikilias, underscoring the significance of the project for the national economy and global shipping.
Designed and constructed entirely in Greece
The agreement represents a strong vote of confidence in Greek design capabilities and domestic technical expertise, according to the company’s announcement. The new vessels will be fully designed and built in Greece, leveraging the strategic network of the Elefsis Shipyards and the Syros Shipyards (Neorion) of the ONEX Group.
The vessels’ superior quality, safety, and environmental performance will be certified by the American Bureau of Shipping (ABS). They will incorporate cutting-edge technologies for the collection of ship-generated waste and its transfer to shore-based facilities, in full compliance with the most stringent requirements of the MARPOL Convention. In parallel, their advanced design will enable them to operate in marine pollution incidents and maritime emergency response scenarios, enhancing the protection of the marine environment.
